Improvement to search: Search by WikiTree ID

+9 votes

It would be really helpful to me and maybe others as well if there was a 'box' to paste/type the WikiTree ID of someone.  I currently have to overwrite the ID in the browser address bar.  Searching by name is nearly impossible, plus you have to type it in.  I keep the ID's in my desktop software the same way I do for FindaGrave.  Anybody else do this or maybe keep a list?

Up on the top line go to Find > People:Search.

The 3rd Option on that page is Search for Ancestor Matches where you can use either a Last Name or the ID.

Thanks, missed that.  I was hoping for it to be adjacent to the name search in the header on every page, but that will do!
Thank you for answering this.  It would still be great if near the search box there was a Wiki-ID search box.  But, this will do for now.

Maybe start add personal categories on the profiles you would like to work with

[[Category: Johnson-13641]]

instead of having them on the desktop software or do both?!!?

I have personal categories [[Category:Sälgö-1]] for

More about personal categories the concept of linking profiles to tasks to do and place information using inbound links is one of the benefits you have when using a wiki....
