Lost in Space?

Actually it's a lost space page. What's happened to http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Founders_of_Hartford I've found at least two places that have links using this URL, so it seems that it has existed. Where did it go?

Special:Whatlinkshere/Space:Founders_of_Hartford

You can link to non existing pages

Maybe it was a Category:Founders_of_Hartford (hist) with text...... that sneeked in under radar of the Wikitree Category police force... ;-)

Anne,

believe (but am not certain) that that page was created by a former wikitreerer who caused a fair amount of damage. It's possible that in one of his attempts to vandalize wikitree that he deleted or vandalized that page. Result: it's gone.

Since there is no one around anymore to maintain that page, I concur that it's better that whatever links there should be edited to link to the Category page instead.

Hi Anne,

I think Jillaine is correct.

Unfortunately, deletion always leaves trails that lead nowhere.

Will there be a problem if I recreate it?
Hmmm. Good question. This can't generally be done with deleted person profiles because of how we assign WikiTree IDs, but I don't see why you couldn't do it with a free-space profile. Try it!

In certain places the history of changes could be confusing, but I don't think it would cause other problems.
This photo file has a running list of the Founder's of Hartford, linked to their WT profiles. I do not know enough about Space or Category to know where it should be filed.

Seems  a more accurate file name would help and the source of the image upload links to even more filing confusion: it is now Kellogg-16.

For what it is worth, having a hot-linked list of Founders of Hartford is useful and interesting.

Sandy
Thanks Sandy, There is a category http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Founders_of_Hartford, which contains most of what I would put on the Space page, including a hotlinked list of founders. I will link the map. I haven't decided if it's worth making a new space page or not.

Unfortunately Categories don't have images, and the photo ID is where the photo was first uploaded. So in order to change the photo ID we would have to reload the photo and then reassign all those names attached. Not worth the effort.
