Finding Notables

+8 votes
So I've had this question a couple of times now, and I think due to the way the Notables Project has its template structured, I haven't figured out how you would do it.

So the question is: How do you determine how many Notables you have in your watchlist? Or for that matter, how would you do a search for Notables? Heck, for that matter, how many Notables do we have in the system?

Normally I would go to a Category and check it to see the count of how many people in that Category, but since this is a Template, I'm not sure how to find that.information using our existing search tools.

I do know how to do a category search, but I don't believe this will give you a list or count of how many are out there. And there's no way to restrict this to a (for example) watchlist.

Any suggestions?

And points to anyone who works a "Finding Nemo" or "Finding Dory" reference into their answer... lol

Wow. 6606 profiles with the Notables Template!

Thanks! This answers one question!

Now how to narrow that down to a single watchlist... hmm.
And looking through that list you will eventually be successful in "finding Dory" ... Previn (, who is a notable. [I tried...]
Is there anyway that the Notables List can be put in Alphabetical Order please?
I scraped all of them into a spreadsheet and did a sort that way, but it sure would be nice if it sorted more by name and not by WikiTree ID #. At the moment I'm just happy there was a way to get an initial list. In theory, I can now get a watchlist and do an Excel pivot table to see the matches. It's a small bit of work, but not nearly as bad as building from scratch or looking individually.
And nice work, Jamie! +1 for your response and a million points for the Finding Dory reference!
