Military records can be found at the Italian provincial archives.

Some are searchable online as at Padova and Venice State Archives.

If you ancestor came from another region, you might need to research in person or send someone there, if they are organized. You should check at their website and write them before, maybe you find a good soul that answer to your request by mail.

Familysearch has a little on film, that you can see online.

What type of Military Records are you looking for? FamilySearch has the Military Registrations for at least Aosta (that is where I am currently working) from about 1796 to 1900. These records are similar to birth registration in that it gives the man's name, date of birth, place of birth and parents names (both father and mother with maiden name)

If you open the page where each of  the Archivi di Stato notes are published, you can read which military records are available and also, you will notice of which towns have been kept.

These notes are available clicking the Esplora gli archivi link at the Portale Antenati homepage and then scrolling down below the map. Once you find the corresponding Archivio link, open it to read them.

Sincere thanks Mario!  I will see if I can find information for the town if Lercara Friddi (Palermo Province).
Yes, I hope that too. As you read, not all documents have been digitized. I always recommend reading the notes of the archive to have a better perspective of which data is available at the time.
