Looks like Rubie's mother's maiden name was Anderson, and Rubie's maiden name was Means.

Since Mattie Anderson is Rubie C Means mother, you may want to find out about the origin of the Anderson surname. It can most likely be found at surnamedb.com . Just enter the Anderson surname and the origin info should appear. They don't seen to have anything on the Means surname.

If you do a search for the following net address, it will show how people with the Means surname are distributed in the United States.

http://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=Means

In England, they are concentrated in Norfolk County, in East Anglia. Just hold the cursor over any county and it will show the county name.  There are also a good concentration of those with the Means surname in Scotland, especially in Aberdeenshire and Angus counties.
