What is value of having my tree here, if I cannot let other people see it

Want to show someone part of my tree & they are getting asked all sorts of questions regarding this.  Don't think she wants to volunteer or anything like that, but would like her to see the Albrecht/Albright//Allbright tree.

Please advise.

What people can see your tree depends on how you have the Privacy set for each profile If the Privacy setting for an individual profile is Open, then everyone can see everything. If you have made the Privacy Black (Unlisted), then no one will be be to see anything, even the name. There are steps of Privacy in between, See the explanation of the Privacy settings HERE.

That is what I thought & have just reread the privacy statement.  WHY, WHY would someone tell this woman who I sent the files to, request her to registered & VOLUNTEER before she could read the files?? All the files sent are open?

Yes, that looked fine.    However, wanted this woman to have all the notes on these people from the late Heinrich Albrecht/Albright to perhaps my GGrandfather Nelson George Albrecht plus his brother's children.  Know she is a researcher who is doing up an article for print.   Had no idea that people could not see the notes on persons no longer on the restricted list.  Of course never had anyone get in touch with me who wanted this type of information other than family.  Are there exceptions to this rule?  Henry Albright (Heinrich Albrecht) has been dead since the early 1800's!  However, if people cannot look at these notes without volunteering it seems odd but not a bad thing.

Had a friend who did not join because she didn't want anyone correcting or putting information on her material.
By notes I assume you mean Biography? Anyone can see them and copy, even if not logged in.
Thank you very much..  This is what I thought but perhaps the woman made an error in trying to register or read the files.  I sent her copies of my actual files when a query from her about being asked to volunteer & register.  Not sure why.
