I have too many matches with more data than the existing entry

After reviewing the 800 entries in my GED file, with existing entries, I have found that in many cases, I have more information than the existing one.  This is taking too much time so I think I'll just forget it and go away.

For example, several Simon entries list residence in Mahoning county prior to 1846, and the county did not exist then, it was Trumbull county at that time.

Many of the existing entries have birth and death dates, but not the location, etc, etc.

Gerald,WikiTree is different than every other site out there. You would not have a personal tree but rather you would share with all of us including some who may be relatives. If there are a lot of profiles already on here that is good news, because you could help improve them rather than starting from scratch. Errors are a part of life with any program and are most often not intentional. I still have errors in the profiles I uploaded in 2013 but I am trying to correct them. It would be a shame if you just give up because the goal here is to have the most accurate family tree with only one profile per person and it sounds like you could help.

I did a quick check and the Simon Profiles with Mahoning County, Ohio on them have no profile manager so it would be very easy for you to adopt them and make the needed corrections.

Don't throw in the towel, Gerald! There are a ton of us with Simon surname tags, and I'm sure you'll end up with plenty of help sorting it all out. Yeah, it will take some time, but once you catch the bug you won't care about that-- it can become something you can't wait to get back to, like the best, most amazing puzzle you ever worked on.
