Owassa Maddox must not be Indian, Two relatives of mine took the DNA and show now Native American DNA

Where is the marriage license for Owassa Maddox marriage to Solomon Tingle?. The 2 marriage licenses are for Elizabeth Stright & Solomon. The Tingle family website newsletter says that the daughter of Jim Tingle, Elma,   wrote the name Owassa Maddox ''just for fun''. This appears to be the correct evidence as the name appears no where for Owassa Maddox in Indian family rolls. 2 of my first cousins & some of their children took the DNA and show no Native American descendancy. They are the granchildren of Jim & Julie Tingle. There is a younger Owassa Tingle but her mother was Indian and married into the Tingle family and she & descendants live in New Mexico after settling in TX. Thanks for any help.

Looks like her profile needs some help. Her year of death is obviously wrong.

What DNA test was it that showed no Native American DNA?  Some tests are not very reliable for determining ethnicity. When you look at your larger group of cousins do you see Native American haplogroups?  Owassa is a Siouan sounding name and Tingle a name with mixed oral history out of NC.
