Trying to trace my great grandmother's (Bezuidenhout) parents.

Hi there

I am having trouble finding any information about my great grandmother's parentage.

Her name was Catharina Jacoba Maria Bezuidenhout and she married my great grandfather Petrus Wynand Nortier.

She was born 3 March 1881 and she died 28 June 1968.

She is buried in De Rust, South Africa.

Her children's names were Carel Albertus Nortier, Jurgens Johannes, Petrus Wynand, Frederick Johannes, Anna Dorothea, Catharina Susanna and Janetta (all born Nortier) I have included their names because sometimes the names of children can help in the search for the correct names of ancestors.

My Oupa (Frederick Nortier) had a cousin named Simon Bezuidenhout so I would guess that my great grandmother's brother had a son named Simon.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or help from other Bezuidenhout researchers.

Thank you so much

Cheers

Nic

Thank you for your response Wayne, much appreciated. Yes, I know what you mean when you say Africa is tough  for genealogy research. Makes it harder when one is not in the country too. I think perhaps the references you have seen for my great grandmother are perhaps the entries I have made on my 'My Heritage' and Geni trees. I am hoping some of my cousins may be able to help with my research so hopefully we'll get on the right track soon.

A little update, I asked my question over on the SA genealogy facebook group and a wonderful lady has helped me greatly. She was able to access the Oudtshoorn baptism records and has found a Catharina Jacoba Maria Bezuidenhout born on 3/31881, baptised 24/4/1881 whose parents are listed as Jurgens Johannes Bezuidenhout and Anna Johanna Van Der Westhuizen. I will now attempt to find sources for them and hope to be able to confirm all this. I am very excited to have this new info and I would welcome any information anyone might be able to add.
