Looking for last name of Nancy married to Franklin Newton, Barre MA

Question

I am the great granddaughter of George F. Newton of Worcester, Ma. I have been working on the Newton line and found I have connections to Constant Merrick of Hardwick, MA, who was active in the Committee of Correspondence during the Revolutionary War and also was descended from Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower!

Comments

There was another Stephen Hopkins who signed the Declaration of Independence. The later person is not descended from the Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower.

I thought the line went: Stephen Hopkins, son Giles had dghtr Abigail, married Wm Merrick (Myrick), parents of Nathaniel, who had a son Constant, who had a dghtr Sarah, who married Timothy Newton, who had a son, Josiah, who married Philena Cox, parents of Franklin Newton.

Frank is correct. I checked the death record for Mariah (Newton) Potter in the Prescott, Hampshire, Massachusetts death records and it does give the maiden name of her mother as Nancy Barton. [Source: Mass. Vital Records 1841-1910, (1894) Vol. 446:47]
