What happened to Eliza Jane and William J. Hamilton?

In working to connect unconnected people to the main tree, I am stumped with these two siblings. Eliza Jane Hamilton (Hamilton-11782), age 9 and her brother, William J (Hamilton-3906), age 7 only appear in the 1880 US Census for Summit Hill, Carbon County, PA. They are living with their mother Mary Jane Demphey McLaughlin and their step-father Thomas McLaughlin. (The surname for Thomas is misspelled here and I can't change it due to the fact that I am not on his trusted list.) We can make an assumption that Mary Jane was in a former relationship with someone by the name of Hamilton. I have been able to find the other children in the family, but not the Hamilton children. Any help would be appreciated.

Give me the names of other children, birth date,Census date you found them

in.I see other Tree"s but they are not accurate.Trains are common then, they could have relocated anywhere.1880 Census gives Mary Jane,

Eliza Jane and William J., I have looked several days.Odd.all three disappear.

Thanks Wayne for your efforts. I am still working to connect these individuals. I sent another request to the profile manager for Thomas McLaughlin and children Grant, Ruth, Susan and Stewart for me to be added to their trusted lists. Since I posted a few days ago I found the marriage record for Mary Jane Hamilton and Thomas McLaughlin. I posted it in Mary Jane's profile.  This tells me that Mary Jane was married to someone named Hamilton. Thomas was married before too because Grant was born before Thomas and Mary Jane married.

The half siblings of Eliza Jane and William J are as follows with the censuses that I have found them in but can't add to their profiles yet:

Grant Thomas McLaughlin Sr. (1868) Age 12 in 1880. i found him next in 1910 in Esmeralda NV. I'm not 100% but his age and birthplace match. Plus if I were a coal miner, I think I'd rather work in a gold mine.
