Boyd Roadblock Elihu Boyd 1821 & who his father is. 1 census shows Cyrus Boyd with a child Elihu Boyd Ohio & Kansas

Question

The road block ive encountered is on the Boyd side. I confirmed that David Allen(1847) is Oscars Denny Boyds(1881) father. But when I go to research David Allen (1847) father Elihu Boyd (1821) is hard to find information on. I was told by a family member that he also went by Oscar. I have found census information that shows he had a child named David Allen and lived in the same area but I think the issue is that he had a nickname Oscar and there are several spellings of his name on the census. Elihew Eli Elijah. I would love any information I can get. I have one census show a Cyrus Boyd with a child Elihu. But it gets messy and confusing at that point. Ive searched Elihu Boyd and Cyrus Boyd over and over with no new information.

Thank you Frank.  I appreciate any extra eyes I can get.  Sometimes I wonder if im missing something obvious.  Ive been using ancestry and a couple other free sites and sometimes i find new information but i cant get the proof behind it.  I almost wonder if his dad went by Cyrus but it wasnt his legal name?  I have 2 great uncles that go by names that arent their first or middle name so I know thats always possible.  Thanks again!

One more thing I found interesting is that Timothy is spelled Tymothy on is gravestone.  Thats the first time I had seen that spelling.

I have a second cousin named Cyrus. He may have been named after an Old Testament military and political leader. My cousin's  mother is Persian.
