My family has an oral history that connects us to James Lewis Kraft. It is believed that my great grandmother Ana Kraft and James were cousins. They were the same age.

I am pretty sure that all ancestors of James Lewis Kraft were written "Krafft" with double f and that the second f in the surname got lost when James Lewis Kraft became US-citizen in 1911. So it has to be Francis Krafft and George Krafft. When was your great grandmother born? Thanks to Betty's sources, I could pin down George in the 1871 Census. At that time, his siblings were Louis, Charles, Francis Kraft, and Elizabeth.
