G2G: Looking for death information for John Edward Shumate DOB 1902/1903 in Payne Ok

Hi -- I am a decendent of the Shumate's and have found a lot of information, however I can't locate information on John Edward Shumate DOB 1902 or 1903, Payne Oklahoma.  His father James William Shumate DOB 1832 is my Great Great Grandfather.  Any help would be appreciated.

Do you know the year he died? Was he in Kansas or TN or some other state when he died? Would you know the county and or city?

Have you found him in the 1910 - 1940 census? They're available on http://www.FamilySearch.org.

After his father died in 1909 he and his Mother, Ida, moved to Wichita Kansas to live with his brother, Thomas (and his wife Verna), as shown on the 1910 Census.  I can then find John in Colorado in the 1920 Census at Fort Logan in the military at the age of 18.  After that, it's a mystery where he went or when he died.  Thank you for your quick responses.
