What else can you tell us about Ira?  I located Ira Biggs on an ancestry.com tree that showed him born 28 Nov 1884 in Kansas, wife's name Annie Elizabeth Josserand.  His mother is shown as Mary Ann SPRINGER; father Columbus Harvey Biggs.  Mary Ann is shown as being born 5 Jan 1855 and dying 11 Aug 1938.  Columbus Harvey is shown as the son of Samuel Biggs and Eveline Goebel and being born 22 June 1854 and dying 3 April 1895.  I have no idea if this is correct, but it gives you clues to work with.

There's a Find-a-Grave memorial for him here:  http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=69368115&ref=acom

I located him on the 1900 US federal census in Newkirk, Kay, Oklahoma, age 14, living with his mother Mary (born January 1855, age 45, widow, born in Indiana, as were her parents) and numerous siblings (Ref:  Year: 1900; Census Place: Newkirk, Kay, Oklahoma; Roll: 1338; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 0095; FHL microfilm: 1241338).  Also located him on the 1910 US federal census, again in Newkirk, Kay, OK, wife shown as Nettie, children Pearl (age 3) and Lee (age 1) (Ref:  Year: 1910; Census Place: Newkirk Ward 2, Kay, Oklahoma; Roll: T624_1256; Page: 10A; Enumeration District: 0065; FHL microfilm: 1375269).

If the above is your family, it looks like Samuel Biggs was married to Avaline Summers.  I located a marriage record for them in Jackson, Indiana for 21 Oct 1848.  It's from an electronic database of Indiana county records.  They are on the 1850 and 1860 Jackson, Indiana census records, and do have a son named Columbus Biggs.

FamilySearch has a few hits for an Ira Samuel Biggs, born November 28, 1882, in Kansas. I'm inclined to think this may be your subject because of the November 28 birthday. The 1882 birth year is what's shown on the California Death Index, showing him dying in Sacramento on 9/16/61. The record also lists his mother's name as BROWN.

This particular Ira S. Biggs also appears on the 1930 US Census, living in Monterey County, California. Married to Nettie (born abt. 1882-1883 in Illinois) and father of Roy (age 14, born in California).

BillionGraves.com shows his gravestone at the Sierra View Memorial Park, in Olivehurst, CA. The gravestone shows his birthdate as 11/28/1884.

The series of Census hits Darlene mentioned in her answer (1900 and 1910) look to be a match to the Ira S I've described above, due to Nettie's appearance in the 1910 record.

The 1920 US census shows Ira and Nettie living in Ceres, Stanislaus County, California, with son Lee Biggs, born about 1909 in Oklahoma. This syncs up with the Oklahoma info from the 1900 and 1910 census records.

If any of this looks like a fit for the Ira S. Biggs you're looking for, we may be able to build up a more detailed profile, including possible military service records, parents, children, etc.

Hello Nic,

Yes this is the correct family line.  If there is anything that we could merge I would be very happy to do.

I am so sorry that it took me this long to get back in contact with you.

Regards,
Ira Samuel Biggs, was married to Lynetta Nettie Harmon, her father was James Harmon (traces back to Anna Land in the 1600s). She was listed as Laurette on one Census. Ira and Nettie are buried in Sierra View Cemetery in Olivehurst. So is his brother Claude V. Biggs and his wife Olive. Son Lee Biggs and wife Emelda Dententer. (They have 11 Children)  Ray Earl Biggs and his wife Clarice are buried in Florida. I have a picture of Mary Anne Springer with her sons Ira, Claude, and Roy E. Biggs in San Francisco. Their Father was Columbus Harvey Biggs and His Father was Samuel. Ira Samuel and Nettie had another daughter Edna after Pearl and Lee and son Roy after they moved from Oklahoma to Ca in 1913. Ira was married to Anne at the time of his death in 1961. Birthday was Nov 28, year was 1884 (maybe). I have more but only so much fits in this box.  Not sure if Mary Anne Springer and Molly Springer are the same person or sisters. Ira was in Spanish American War and WWII. He was at Pearl Harbor. Post card from him to Lee on 12/15/41 says he is OK. Flew PBYs. Claude Biggs editor of Yuba City Herold in 1930's and 1940's with a break for WWII. Microfiche at the Yuba City Library and Chico State Library. Pearl and Harvey Murch (sons Sam, Jack). Edna and Chet Rinehart (Pat Linville). Roy and Lucille Biggs (Carl, Ed). Lee and Emelda Biggs (Bill, Nettie, Mary, Rose, Jim, Art, Bob, Ruth, Steve, Pete, Jeannie). If you have questions, please ask. Thanks. Ruth Biggs Adams

A follow-on:

If Ira, married to Nettie, is the right one, there's a very thin profile already started here on WikiTree:

Biggs-2055

This Ira Biggs is shown as being married to Laurette (Harmon) Biggs. Other sources indicate that Laurette Harmon is the woman known as "Nettie".

I don't know if this record is one you started, as the manager is "anonymous", but if it isn't, you might want to get in touch with them directly.

If it _is_, let us know and we may be able to help flesh out that branch of the tree with you.

Yes, this information is correct.  Please let me know if you have any further information or if a merge is possible.

Thank you
It is not me. It is a friend of Bob's trying to get information for him. Bob doesn't like computers.  Debbie can get a little confused at times now but means well. I have papers and pictures. Jeannie (Jeannette) has been going through boxes of pictures, cards, letters and "stuff" connecting old address books with complete names on cards since Mom passed away last month. Relatives in Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, and Florida. Betty Jane Biggs Noles was Claude's Daughter and last known in Portland Oregon. Donna June Knouse was Ray E Biggs daughter. I think Ray E. had a twin Roy that died as a child. Charles, Paul,  are possible brothers from another mother but no real information. Pearl, Roy, Charles abound. aunts, cousins.
