Exactly how does the connection process work? Does Wikitree create the connections from a GEDCOM or do I have to do it manually?

Any connections in your GEDCOM should have been created during the import process. If you had to exclude anyone because they already exist in WikiTree then any connections to that person won't have been created. Do you have reason to believe a connection has not been made?

If inserting descendants of a person who is in Wikitree without descendants, is it reasonable to create a duplicate so that all descendants will be linked, and then merge the duplicated ancestor?
