How do i find out what native american roots i have without a DNA test?

From what i was told my grandmother on my father's side is of Cherokee blood, but my grandfather on my mother's side is a chief of the Seneca nation, how does that pertain to me?

You will have to research your family tree the usual way using census records, birth, marriage and death records, military records, etc. Once you have researched your parents, then grandparents, then great grandparents you will have a better idea as to whether the family stories passed down to you are based on true facts or are just family stories.
