You add the project to the profiles.   I copy and paste it onto the profile.  Put it above the == Biography ==.

Then surround it with

There are maybe two things involved here.

Projects and Categories

Projects are made up of members who are dedicated to improving profiles from a certain grouping (say Mayflower passengers) and the profiles of ancestors who were on the Mayflower. To add a name to a project, Find the Project (look under the Find menu in the upper right corner). If you're not sure, send a message to the Project Manager, asking if you're ancestor fits into the project. Projects have templates, eg.  Mayflower that you add to profiles. This adds the profile to the project and to the category.

Categories are groupings of profiles. Categories can be complicated. But if you look under the Find menu above for categories, and do a search or just keep refining (eg. Military - US Armed Forces - US Coast guard and down) eventually you will find the category you're looking for (or you can ask here in the G2G). Categories are entered on a profile by putting "brackets" around the name of the category. eg.
