I propose a merge I go to check on it and it says some else proposed it. Then that other person completes the merge. Not a manager or involved with the profile. But the weird thing is there is no record I proposed the merge. Not on my contribution list , not the bulletin board nowhere. I thought the first time maybe I thought I proposed but didn't. If someone removes a merge is there a record for the profile manager who proposed it. This happens with only one person..

Trudy, does your merge proposal not even show on the Changes tab?  Could you give us an example profile?
Nan thank you for responding  , at this point in time like Dale said , the merges got done. I just no longer feel like making any effort to continue my commitment to maintain my profiles. A new person who is going to be very good at doing the wikitree thing is co-manager on many of the direct family that is important to me . I'm going to step aside for awhile and let her work with them. Like I said she's very good.  At least until I feel like I'm not being trampled over and like my work is not good enough. I only have about 150 profiles I can't work them all at the same time. It obvious I am working alot of them and I don't see why people feel the need to edit a profile when they could just leave a comment on the bulletin board. I'm tried of being told by people that they are busy they don't have time to add sources  , explain why they did something they don't have time to collaborate , but they have time to spout out comments about " after all the work they are doing is building wikitree. And the tree belongs to everyone."  I met my commitment to source my unsourced profiles I created so I'm done. At least for now. So thanks again Nan.
Trudy,

I'm concerned about the changes made without providing "reliable" sources.  It certainly takes an effort to provide the sources to back you our edits but it's crucial to the end product.....    I'll admit I've been discouraged by profile managers that won't agree to merges and don't have sources on their profiles..... But there's so much work to be done,  I move to another profile and cool down.   Don't be discouraged,  what we're creating is worth the frustration.

Trudy, It could be possible that one of the managers of those profiles is rejecting the merge proposal and re initiating it to add to their contribution points. If that is the case then it is not following in the spirit of collaboration, but as long as the merge is completed then I can not say too much negative about it. I would never do that myself, but I have witnessed others doing it.

Again as long as the merge is completed I would not worry about it, it is not worth the stress.
