Profile review, please

Question

I would welcome any and all suggestions for this profile.

I know that some things could probably be moved to a free space page; there is duplication of sources so a span (?) reference could be made; and I have newspaper clippings from his life that will add detail and flesh out his story.  But my brain hurts and I need to take a break.

I know it would be easy for some to jump in and make some of the seemingly little changes, but I am still learning how to work on WikiTree.  For this reason, could suggestions and changes be explained as to why, and more importantly, how.  I can follow suggestions better if I can see where they are to be applied; and, do the process myself at least once.  It is an open profile, but I would like to learn.

You can add the category of [[Category:Freemasonry]] to his profile as I see he was in the Masonic order.

Because he's a notable, you can also add the This Day In History categories for his birth and death dates. For example, [[Category:This Day In History April 22]] for his birth and [[Category:This Day In History January 9]] for his death.

You can use location categories if you like. [[Category:Calhoun County, Mississippi]] is one. [[Category:San Angelo, Texas]] is another.

His cemetery is listed as a category, so you can use that too: [[Category: Oaklawn Cemetery, Decatur, Texas]]

If I think of any more, I'll let you know.

Overall, this is a very nice profile. As you said, perhaps a bit of bio that edges ever so slightly into some speculative realms, but not by much. And based on what I've read online, it's nice to see some of this actually written together in that way as there's only a limited amount of this in one place elsewhere.

San Angelo, Texas brings up a question.  I spent several months in training at the Air Force Base there in the Viet-Nam era.  Would this count as meriting the San Angelo category or is that reserved to be being born, died or married there?  The category I have for Monroe, Licking, Ohio, I put the category on anyone who actually lived there for any major period of time, but I don't know if that is usual or not.

Typically the location categories are used for birth or death, but I suppose if there was something significant in your life that occurred there, you might use it for that - not really sure. That's a good question. We should probably create a separate question for that.

Thank you Scott.  I had thought that I should look for some categories that would fit.  I appreciate the nudge in the right directions.

I mentioned that I found some news clippings which I think will clear up some of the speculative sections...well, I hope so.

In your opinion (or anyone's), should I move the document transcriptions to a free space page?  Secondly, I think a space page would be the correct place to gather the news clippings.  Am I on the right track?

I'll be honest - I'm generally happier in a profile with more rather than less. With that being the case, I'd leave the transcriptions as is. You can certainly feel free to make a free space page and move them over, but I find the additional management on such things can tend to get either tiresome or forgotten. At least if it's still in your watchlist, it's on your radar somewhere and you don't have to keep track of a page that might not get the attention it needs.

If you move things to a Free space

Then you can still include it on the profile using {{Space:xxx}}
and also use it on more profiles....
or just link to it [[:Space:xxx|My text ]]

1. I prefer "reuse" citations using the name attribute
   <ref name="Wiki">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinn_Williams</ref>
   
   And then the next time you reference Wiki just use 
   <ref name="Wiki"/>
   
   ==> you get in the Source section one entry of Wikipedia and the places where it's used
    
2. I also preffer that the URL is not shown instead text

Kathleen you have produced a nice profile. I do have one comment. Try to use direct sources and URL's. When you are using Find-a-Grave as a source take the time to get their directly and not to use Family Search.  You can then link to the FAG site which then has more information and links to family members. I liked that you listed the Find-a-Grade id number on the profile so someone else would not have to search for it. So I would use
