I'm new here! Why did I sign up?

Question

I signed up here to find out the origins of my family. I am Canadian and all the way back to my great-grandparents we were all born here, and I don't know about anyone further back than that. I'm as white as they come though, so obviously they came here sometime in the last four centuries max. So the reason I want to do a tree is to find the origins of my family, and why they decided to come to the new world, and what their lives were like back then.

I'm glad that my research will become part of a larger record, and I'm thankful to the people who have already done research that I can draw from.

Well, since you're Toop-84, you may get some ideas by ckecking out the Toops already on WikiTree.  If you go to your profile, there are some buttons including a "find" one which has "surnames" under it.  This will get you to the various surnnames, though you  may have to work a bit to get there.  Anyway I checked and it looks like all the Toops here are from England and British Columbia.  Have fun!
