Looking for parents of Minor B. Davidson

Question

Minor B. Davidson married Eleanor Katherine Moore in Tipton County, TN January 4, 1842. They had 8 children the youngest of whom was Jacob Lee Davidson, my gggrandfather. M.B. Davidson may have been the brother of Thomas F. Davidson. They took title together of 112 acres in Tipton County from Alexander W. Smith December 29, 1848. Also Thomas named Minor as trustee in a trust deed given to secure a debt to Lewis Thomas. This TD is dated October 8, 1838.

Sarah Dumas Davidson is listed in the 1900 Tipton Co., Tn Census, 4th Civil Dist. as Sarah Davidson, age 80, widow, mother-in-law to William Base Timbs. Census also indicates Sarah was the mother of 5 children and 2 were living at the time of the census. The children were, of course, from Sarah's first or previous marriage. This would be Michelle's line."

Minor B. Davidson purchased property from Samuel Timms (Tims), Lucinda Tims' older brother, on August 8,1845. Samuel Timms married Nancy C. Moore - perhaps a sister of Eleanor Catharine Moore, first wife of Minor B. Davidson. This seems to reinforce the idea that Thomas and Minor were related -- perhaps brothers, but we don't know who Thomas's parents were, either. There are 24 Davidsons listed in the 1820 census with at least two children 10 and under. One of these has got to be their father I think!

I think that William T. is the s/o Thomas, born 1849-50.

1850 U.S. Federal Census: Minor B. Davidson age 31 b. 1819 wife Catherine Davidson b. 1825 Kentucky. Children: Harvey Davidson age 7 b.1843, Julia Davidson age 6 b. 1844, Nathan Davidson age 3 b. 1847, George Davidson age 1 b. 1849. All children born in Tipton County, TN.

Thanks!  I thought Ephraim might have been his father, too, but have since become convinced he is not. Here is one list of the descendants of Ephraim. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/DAVIDSON/2003-03/1046907999.

I also have seen Ephraim's will transcribed (but can't find it now). It did not list a Minor B or Thomas F as sons. Ephraim did own land in Tipton County at the right time (as did his brother John O. Davidson), so I'm wondering whether they might have had another common ancestor.
