why can't I send or receive e-mail's

Hello to all who can help me, I am having trouble sending and receiving e-mail's. I don't know if it is my iPad or there is a scam. I am googling it know, but if some one can help, I would be very greatful. Thank you, from Carole.   Ashton-1288. PS, just thinking to myself, perhap's know one will see this message.
