Can you give us a little more detail what you were doing when you got that message?
Wikitree-ID's are finicky. They need to be precise. The ID can be copy/pasted from the profile. It's the last bit on the URL. It's also on an orange line underneath the data section on the top left section of the profile. You have to make sure it's spelled right and there are no spaces
They are also case sensitive. i.e. Caps matter.
Thank you!  I was leaving out the hyphen.

If you'll look at the Family Tree and Tools button on the top of your profile, you'll see that most of your ancestors to 5 generations are already entered.  therefore you don't need to merge them.  However if you've created duplicate profiles you should merge the new ones you created into the lower-numbered profile which was already in place. Look in the help index under merge and you should find detailed instructions there.  If that's what you've already been trying, let us know exactly where the error message occurs in the process and I'm sure we'll eventually get it straightened out. And once you do get profiles merged, be sure to combine the bios and clean up any un-neaded links or material.

Thank you, Dave.   This last GEDCOM I entered was the 4th of my four grandparents, as my entire file was too large to enter at one time.

I am trying to get my GEDCOM to fill in my grandfather's ancestors so I do not have to do each one manually.   But I have just learned that because I skipped my grandfather, he is the only one that went into the tree.

How do I get the rest of the tree in?
