Joshua Lewis-Grandson of John Lewis (Pioneer)?

Question

Hi all!

[[Lewis-19579|Joshua Lewis]] is my 5th great grandfather. However, I've never been able to find any solid information about his parents.

 

His wikipedia suggests Captain John Lewis (wife:Elizabeth) are his parents.

I can't seem to find any info on that connection though.

 

THEN, there are many "sources" that state he was a grandson/descendant of [[Lewis-440|John Lewis]].

(Also stating [[Lewis-439|Andrew Lewis]] as his father, but all other sources will contradict.)

And none of John Lewis' other children have a child named Joshua.

If anyone has any information, it's appreciated.
