Know about Mayhews of Virginia?

I am trying to find information out about the Mayhews of Virginia. The problem is that when I starting going back in the family line, I find the line going back to Maryland, which is odd. Most people who came to Maryland did not migrate to Virginia. Then if I keep going back in the Mayhew line in Maryland, it takes me to the Mayhews of Massachusetts. I think there are very few immigrants who came down to Virginia from Massachusetts. There are problems in the LDS database. Anyway, I looked on the listofnames.com website and found these two Mayhews mentioned:

 - Zachariah Mayhew landed in Maryland 1673

 - John Mayhew landed in Rappahannock, Virginia 1727

I'm sure I'm descended from John Mayhew, but I can't find any information on Zachariah or John. Does anybody have any ideas???
