Are there any sources for this marriage? I can find from Catherine's parents all the way to and including Pocahontas to john Rolfe, but not this one. My wife and I would love to prove this connection.

Plenty of sources stating they were married but not to Jr.  .. such as .. I have listed these believing you probably already know these sources... Just in case .. nothing points to "John Bourland, Jr." .. so far

Are you asking your question about John Bourland Sr. !! ?

It should be Senior.  I corrected the John Bourland profile.  I've seen all of the anecdotal statements that they were married, but no documentation.  My wife and I have been looking for about 3 years for this.  Definitely a brick wall for us.  Unfortunately we can't push the "I believe Button."  I'm also stating for the record that Jerry is, in no way, suggesting we do that. :-)

PS. The profile on Geni has General Randolph marrying his daughter.

Thank you for the help Jerry.  We'll keep looking as well.

                          Greetings Tim Fackler ..

I agree the sources are anecdotal.

The sources represent folks who "believe" they were "married."

I'm looking to find Catherine Randolph listed  as Catherine Bourland somewhere.

The possibility that they had as many as ten children provides opportunities to read if their children describes them as married.

Researching the relationship between John Sr. 's indentured servant status, circa religious culture and the local conventions for marriage in Virginia at the time is worth while I think.

Researching the Rev. John Bourland Jr. 's papers, marriage documents with Mary Loving and any Baptist documents in regard to his formal training is worth while.

There are strong anecdotal suggestions with cultural conventions and extended family building that points to a strong "marital" and responsible relationship.

                          Great question.
