There was an Alton L Crosby born 1897, died 1897 in Maine. His father was Philanda Crosby and mother was Louise S. Littlefield. Maybe the S is short for Sarah.

The 1830 US Census, above has Clyde L Cosby married to Alice Cosby. He's 39 and she is 28.  Alice Crosby was buried in 1967 at                   Puritan Lawn Memorial Park  Clyde L Crosby was buried at the same cemetery in 1965.

Given the commonality of Clyde and Alice being in the 1930 US Census in 1930 in Maine and their names being associated in the same cemetery in Peabody, MA, it seem likely that it's probably the same couple.

It puzzling that if Alice in a widow in 1940, that Clyde would be buried in 1965.
