From Darvid Region, settled in year 1300, form Darmwari Village, now in Ruderprayag, Uttranchal, India.

Question

Land records shows that the village crop land starts on year 1325 in Darmwari Village. It was believed that a person named Samay Prasad Darmoda was the person who came somewhere from Dravid Region (probably South India location) to settle a new village called Darmwari and thereafter his progenies are now called Darmoda. He has two sons, one of them has seven sons (their progenies known by name Saet-Bhaiya (means seven brothers)  and other one has five sons (their progenies known by name Panch-Bhaiya (means five brothers) as per verbal transmission of facts and thoughts to the next generations. Some facts/information in common language(Hindi, Garhwali is the native language of the villeage) that I  collected are : [दरम्वाड़ी गाँव = १६०० मैं द्रविड़ प्रदेस से मूल गौड़ जाती वाले ब्रह्मण नागपुर मैं बसे , द्रविड़ वासी होने से इन्हें दरमोड़ा तथा इनके गाँव को दरम्वाड़ी कहा गया,(Reference: http://www.orkut.com/Main#CommMsgs?tid=5359149360443967206&cmm=52460198&hl=hi )] and [ द्रविड़ तमिलनाडु का प्राचीन नाम, अर्थात् चेन्नई से लेकर दक्षिण में कन्याकुमारी तक दक्षिण भारत का भूभाग है।[1] इस उल्लेख के अनुसार सहदेव ने द्रविड़ तथा अन्य दक्षिणात्य राज्यों पर दिग्विजय-यात्रा के प्रसंग में विजय प्राप्त की थी। वनपर्व में द्राविड़ों का चोलों और आंध्रों के साथ उल्लेख है।[2] कहा जाता है कि द्रविड़ और तमिल शब्द मूलत: एक ही हैं, केवल उच्चारण के भेद के कारण अलग-अलग हो गए हैं। मनु के अनुसार द्राविड़ मूलत: क्षत्रिय थे। Ref: http://hi.bharatdiscovery.org/india/%E0%A4%A6%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%A1%E0%A4%BC_%E0%A4%A6%E0%A5%87%E0%A4%B6) ]
