looking for paternal grandparents info. Lived in dundee , scotland

Some specific info would be needed if you have it. Do you have birth year, marriage year, and death year for each grandparent? First and last name of paternal grandfather as well as first and maiden name of grandmother would be helpful too.

Hi, thank you for being so welcoming , I am not computer savvy , and some of this is a bit confusing . My dads name was Stewart Robertson Reid . His fathers name , I think ,was William (Reid ) and my dads mother was I think , and this is from very young memory ,Xena or Zena ,short for something I think . They lived the last time I saw (35 yrs ago) in St. Marys in Dundee . I was hoping by finding my dads birth announcement , it would tell me their names ,and I could go from there . But -nothing .I have not spoken to my parent in 25 yrs. and he had nothing to do with his parents after he left Dundee maybe 40 yrs ago . History has repeated itself ,unfortunately . This has left many unanswered questions I have , and would like to have for my young boys for when they are older . Thank you so much   , if I can help back in any way ,  would love to. Just not sure what  can do, although I do love researching the past . Cheers  Sue .   Need to add that my dad was born ( a good guess ) around 1945 , give or take a few , making him around 70 . He also had 4 sisters , one named Valerie who married, had boys (my cousins ) whom I've never met  and stayed in Dundee  for a long time ,maybe permanently. Another sister moved to Australia (Jean) ?? I'm trying to find anything on his parents (my grandparents ) or his sister Valerie (my aunt) , births, marriage , death notices , Thank you , Sue

There's a birth record for a Stewart Roberts Reid in 1942 in the St Clements District of Dundee City, Angus ref  282/02 0800.  There is a limit on the characters on page so it might be Robertson.   His birth cert is not available online so you will have to order same or perhaps some kind WikiTreer can look it up for you at the Scotland's People offices in Edinburgh.    This will give his parents names etc.

Hi Susan,  Found a birth record for Valerie Roberts Reid born 1947 St Clements District Dundee ref 282/02 0548   Again not online.

Can't immediately see a marriage record in Dundee but marriage would be in brides local area normally.   There are a few  William Reid marriage in St Clements and St Marys area of Angus.   Don't know enough about Angus to know if these are Dundee area as well !!

As both children have Robertson as middle name I might be their mother's maiden name.   I'll see if I can find a Reid/Robertson marriage in approx time scale.
