Help with Joseph Johnson, Please

Question

I have been struggling with finding his parents for what seems like forever.  These are the facts:  Born abt 1807, Leicester, England.  Married Rosetta M Dear in 1829, All Saints, Leicester, Leicestershire,  Died 12 Jul 1870 in Phila., PA.  I found a list on Family Search, but there are several  possibilities.  The most likely seems to be a christening record from 15 Sep 1806 At All Saints, Leicester listing Edward and Mary Johnson as parents.  If someone more experienced at this could try to verify this or tell me how, I would be very grateful.  Meanwhile I will plug away...

Joseph Johnson was in his 63rd year On July 12, 1870. If he was born in 1837, he could not have been christened in the previous year, 15 September 1806.

Frank, I can't explain the Susan thing.  I do know the sons listed belong to him and Rosetta and all other facts fit.  Maybe there was a divorce I haven't discovered.   Obviously, Susan can't be the mother of Joseph, jr, born the same year as she was, as seems to be listed in her Find A Grave entry.  Joseph's birth year is uncertain.  Joseph, jr was born abt 1837.  I propose Joseph may have been born in late 1806 rather than 1807.

Whilst there are three Joseph Johnson around 1806-1808.Two are distinct possibilities

The third  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NPC6-JMF I think can be discounted as he appears living in Shepshed with spouse Sarah in 1851.

I have not been able to replicate the marriage, as often, hidden in the image of the record are the names of the bride & grooms fathers.

Review the names of the Joseph & Rosetta's children as in those days there parents names were often given to eldest boy & girl. If there was a Moses, or Edward that would tend toward the most likelyJoseph

Thanks, Ron.  I just found marriage info today and am not sure of the source right now, but it was somewhere on Family Search.  Alas, no older children named Edward, though there is an Edwin--my 2nd gr-grandfather.  Definitely no Moses!  I do know several children were born in Leicester and the remainder in Philly.  I am leaning toward Edward and Mary.  There's a Rosetta Mary, but I think that's totally from her mother...
