DNA Connections??

Question

I'm just learning to navigate Wikitee so I apologize in advance if I am posting in the incorrect forum.  I have tested at Ancestry.com and uploaded to Gedmatch. My Gedmatch # is on my profile.  I notice that many profiles have a list of people under "DNA Connections".   How do I get DNA connections?  Is there something I have to do?

If you just put the information in it will show up tomorrow, it just takes time for wiki to show it.

Put what information in?  I added my Gedmatch # over a month ago.    Do you  mean adding ancestors?

You have to add it to the DNA section on your profile. At the top of the page, where it says E.-148, there is a menu item DNA. Click on that and then click on "DNA Tests". Here is where you enter the tests you have taken. It will propagate to your ancestors when it is updated overnight.

Because you entered your ancestor's today, it will show tomorrow and then tomorrow if you add more ancestor's, again take overnight to update to show you have tested your DNA on their profiles.

I think I understand.  This doesn't appear to be "adoptee friendly " even though I have knowledge of many ancestors and entered it.   It says my test is excluded for brevity.

WikiTree is more along the lines of traditional genealogy. It isn't set up to look for parents of adopted children.

It does the same for adopted and non adopted people, my DNA is also "excluded for brevity", I just ignore that...I will try to explain it to you but I have a hard time explaining things that I need to type out.......it basically means your test is already included once and there is no point in including it again for that profile or person.

And also Kathy,

Wiki updates DNA info every evening. That includes imputing the tests you have taken or if creating/adding new ancestors, it will update over night.

However, this does not mean DNA confirmed, it just means that anyone related to that person most likely will share DNA with the listed DNA Takers on their profile page....

For example, my great great great grandmother died way before DNA so I can only confirm by DNA with her if I can also find 2 cousins not related  (not brother and sister but two other separate cousins) and can triangulate the DNA match. then it can be confirmed.

It is a little more complicated, but don't let that scare you. There is a page that explains it, just incase you have not read it and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions.
