Thee are lots of hits for him on Ancestry.com. They give his birth date as 23 Mar 1915 in Cherokee, NC and his death date as 10 Nov 1982. I don't see the 1940 census in a quick look, but that's what you'll need to find to start looking for descendents. Have you tried searching on Google?
