Who is Euphemia Stewart and who are her parents?

I'm questioning whether Euphemia is a daughter of Walter Stewart. The Foundation for Medieval Genealogy website lists seven children for Walter and his un-named wife. Euphemia is not one of them! 

 

Some internet pages show a Euphemia Stewart who married Adam Wallace as the daughter of Richard Wallace & Margaret Bolebec.

 

On the other hand, Euphemia, daughter of WILLIAM de Brus of Annandale & his wife Christine appears to have married a Patrick Dunbar.

 

Perhaps successive merges and an error or two have messed up this profile.

Robert the Second who was the first Stewart king of Scotland married, as his second wife Euphemia,( the daughter of Hugh, sixth Earl Ross and Margaret Graham). King Robert' and Euphemia's son David, born about 1356, married a lady whose name is not recorded, thought to be a daughter of Alexander Lindsay of Glenesk.  David's daughter, Euphemia, born circa 1375 married first Sir Patrick Graham of Dundaff and Kilpont. Their children were   1. Malise Graham,Earl of Strathern     2.Euphemia Graham    3.Elizabeth Graham.  Euphemia Stewart married secondly  Sir Patrick Dunbar of Bele and had sons Patrick and George.  This information is from British historian Alison Weir's book  Britain's Royal Families.   I will go through my other Scottish history books for other Euphemia Stewart entries and if any different ones are found, add them in COMMENTS

I've found  Walter Stewart( the first to use the name)( son of Alan fitzWalter) married Beatrix, the daughter of Gilchrist Douglas  A daughter Eupheme,born circa 1200, married Patrick Dunbar born circa 1185.  Their marriage has not been proven  Further notes will be added if I find any.

Gilchrist (Gillecrist) Douglas was Earl of Angus. Beatrix in Gaelic is Bethoc.   Eupheme is also called in some sources Eupheme fitzWalter.  (from the studies of J.H.Round.)

The fact that the marriage is not proven is somewhat of a problem or at least it should be.

I think you mean Bethoc is Gaelic for Beatrix.

No mention of Adam Wallace (Walays). The family are tied in with the stewarts.

Unfortunately, when Edward the First of England set his cap for Scotland, a great devastation was wrought in the south.Numerous abbeys were burned and records lost to posterity. The marriages were generally regarded as lawful if the son inherited the lands and titles. This is what writers like Alison Weir and Magnus Magnusson mean when they say "no evidence can be found." Acknowledged bastards were provided for but very rarely succeeded to the title.    I am still searching for Adam Wallace in my files.Some of my notes are handwritten and about thirty years old. If I find notes on Adam,citing a source, I'll send them.  Thank you for responding so promptly.

I think the "marriage" of Eupheme to Adam is spurious.  The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography has Patrick, Earl of Dunbar born circa 1185, married to Eupheme circa 1213. Patrick died 1249.  Eupheme would have been about fifty years old then. The son of Patrick and Eupheme became seventh Earl Dunbar.
