G2G: Which Jackson family changed name to Jenkins because of a tragedy in SC?

I married into the Jenkins family from SC and it is said that their name use to be Jackson but because one of the Jackson family members killed their entire family (wife and kids) so they changed their name to Jenkins.

Heard anything about this?
