The New Zealand Project has been invited to pick the Collaborative Profile of the Week for w/c 6 June.   This is our chance to showcase a worthy New Zealander who either does not currently have a profile on WikiTree or whose profile would benefit from some TLC.   Who do you think it should be?    Please post ideas below or contact me direct.   Thanks for your participation.

I'm an indirect Kiwi through my great-grandma but I will kick this off!  How about Katherine Mansfield, the short story writer?  I dont think her profile is on here

What about Brian Barratt-Boyes?

A little bit difficult with the double barrelled name, but he doesn't appear to have been done?

Thanks Simon,  what a wonderful choice.    I can't see a profile for him on WikiTree.   Even from Scotland I see lots on google about him.  Strange he's not listed in the 50 coolest Kiwi's ever !  That is to our advantage.   I'll create a basic profile for him and post a link to it here.   He is top of my short-list at the moment given we are starting from a blank sheet.   Link to his new profile http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Boyes-373
Added some basic data to help those writing bio for Barratt-Boyes - will have a look at the Barratts & fill in his mother's family
Hi Folks,   It's absolutely wonderful that you are so keen to work on his and his families profiles - BUT can I beg you to hold off doing so till w/c 6 June.  Otherwise the profile(s) will be too good and not need any  TLC.
oops - sorry - didn't notice the date
It's OK Valerie,   I've put a green privacy level on his profile and will change it to open when the big day arrives.   I've passed his name up the line and he is now our official nominee.  !!   Thanks to everyone who helped me with this.   You are all stars.   Now please mark Monday 6 June in your diaries/calendars.

I have just begun a genealogy for Toss Woollaston, knighted for his contributions to art - all wikitree-ers welcome

http://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Woollaston-4&public=1

Does anyone have access to images of his art that could be included in his profile?

We've got Sir Peter Jackson, who is unconnected....
by Richard Shelley G2G6 Pilot (247k points)
Are you aware that this is an OLD thread?? Dated to May of last year!!!

At least I know that Sir Brian Barrett Boyes did make Profile of the Week.
Yes, well aware that this is 14 months old...

Doesn't hurt to add the suggestion though!
Hi Folks,  It's great that you are looking for NZ profiles to develop/connect.   Can I ask you to add his  WikiTree ID.   As a Scot I'm not familiar with this person and there are lots of Peter Jackson profiles on WikiTree.   Many thanks.

Certainly: Jackson-11419

Ooops !!  You can tell I'm not a Lord of the Rings fan either !!  Thanks Richard.
:) Happy to help

And Sir Peter Blake.

His wife (now widow) is English too!! She may even be from the aristocracy - but I'm not positive about that.

Hi Robynne,  Not so many Peter Blakes on WikiTree but I don't see one who might be this person.   Does he have a profile yet ?   Again I'm not familiar with this person - think I need to do some googling !!
Having collected his details and some of his ancestors earlier this year, I have now created Sir Peter's profile and will be adding his ancestors and working hard to try and get him connected!!!

Maria,

I was doing Peters Ancestors but could not find the link. Kiwis can sometimes be quite isolated. So I turned to his English born wife Pippa.

I ended up having to watch several videos on Youtube about Peter Blake and his sailing exploits before I finally got a clue as to who Pippa's parents were. That sent me off on another hunt.

I have now added and connected Sir Peter Blake to the tree via his wife Pippa Glanville, her brother Charles Glanville and his wife Nicola Blount to her father who is connected. These connections will update tomorrow.
Wow - thanks Robynne.
