I would like for any male who carried or carries the surname Moss to try to help me determine who might related to Louise Moss Hightower (1898-1977) or her father, James Moss (1872-1909) of Edgefield, SC.  Also interested in any male with Moss surname who has done DNA testing to compare their results with mine on Ancesty, 23andme, FTDNA and/or Gedmatch.

Yes, some of them I have contacted.  But, now information could be found to match my Moss with their Moss family.

I do have several Ross individuals in my family tree, one of them is a  John H Ross born 1909 in Georgia.  However, I do not have anyone listed as his spouse.

Hopefully something breaks loose for you.  For what it's worth, a High School friend of mine is named John Ross.

My mother's maternal grandmother was  Cora Belle Moss. I uploaded my Ancestry.com DNA file to GEDMATCH yesterday, so it may be a while before any matches will work.

Hello, my name is Darlene Moss.  My earliest confirmed ancestor is Benjamin Jefferson Moss who married Elizabeth Cynthia Carr in 1838. My family says that we are descended from Gilbert Moss and Reuben Benjamin Moss.  While I have researched both the descendants from those men - I am unable to connect the two (Gilbert & Reubin).

I have Ydna tested with a resulting I-Y15479 haplogroup. My earliest documented male ancestor is Henry Moss, born in Hanover Germany on 8 May 181926. I just posted a question on G2G about him a few minutes ago.You can see the results of my Y-dna on my profile.

Hope that you find this useful.
