In the Ohio death records, I found the following children born to David Johnson and Susan (Pierce):

* Steven(s) Joseph, b. 10 Feb 1861 Salt Run, Jefferson Co., OH; d. 20 March 1947. Shows father David's middle name as "De Moins"("Ohio Deaths, 1908-1953," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X65K-21Q : accessed 13 May 2016), Stevens Joseph Johnson, 20 Mar 1947; citing , reference certificate; FHL microfilm 2,372,925.)

* John, b. 20 Feb 1861 Steubenville; m. Mary Elizabeth "Settell"; d. 7 Nov 1947 Wheeling, Ohio Co., West Virginia("West Virginia Deaths, 1804-1999," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N9HR-QMQ : accessed 13 May 2016), John Johnson, 07 Nov 1947; citing Wheeling, Ohio, West Virginia, County Records, v 100 cn 1010, county courthouses, West Virginia; FHL microfilm 857,628.)

* David Demorn, b. 10 May 1866 Georges Run, OH; m. * Anna, b. 20 Sept 1866 Ohio, m. -- Bickersaff; d. 1 Dec 1951 Mother's name spelled "Pearce."("Ohio Deaths, 1908-1953," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X6P9-JTT : accessed 13 May 2016), Anna Johnson Bickerstaff, 01 Dec 1951; citing , reference Certificate; FHL microfilm 2,372,879.)

* Roy A., b. ca. 1881; d. 20 Aug 1964 Bellaire, Belmont, OH("Ohio, County Death Records, 1840-2001," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F6F2-3D7 : accessed 13 May 2016), Roy A Johnson, 20 Aug 1964; citing Death, Bellaire, Pultney Township, Belmont, Ohio, United States, source ID Item 1 cn 132, County courthouses, Ohio; FHL microfilm 2,115,372.)

Based on those children, I searched the 1880 US Census and found David "Johnston," 46, living in Steubenville, Jefferson, Ohio: David Johnston, 46; Susan Johnston, 46; John Johnston, 17; Stephen Johnston, 14; William Johnston, 12; Annie Johnston, 11; Benjamin Johnston, 8; Jacob Johnston, 6; George Johnston, 4; David Johnston, 1. All were born in Ohio except David Sr. and Susan, who were born in Virginia. David Sr.'s parents were born in Ohio.) There is a Joseph Johnson family enumerated immediately above David's, so they may be related.)("United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M898-BZS : accessed 13 May 2016), David Johnston, Steubenville, Jefferson, Ohio, United States; citing ED 109, sheet 430A, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 1037; FHL microfilm 1,255,037.

Although the dates aren't exact and there are some discrepancies, most conspicuously David Jr.'s birth date, I am confident that this is the same family.
