What genealogical mapping software is there?

I would like to map a family tree by entering members with birth and death locations and dates (would be ideal to be able to provide residence dates as well). Then I would like to run the map through time, or select times, and see where the tree members alive at a particular time where.

I have done a bit of a web search and I am not finding any such software. Sounds like a big project, but has someone done this?

Legacy has a mapping section.  They also offer a free one month trial on their website, which I found useful prior to purchasing the programme.
