Has anyone linked the REA family from Bromsgrove with the RAE family in Bristol?

Question

My mother Marguerite Alice Ashton (1910-2003)  was the daughter of Alice Rollason born REA (1880-1954).  Alice Rea was born in Bromsgrove daughter of William Rea (1852-1928), son of (1826-1898), son of Isaac Rea (1804-1876).  All of these Rea's lived in Bromsgrove.

Isaac Rea's 2nd wife was Mary (surname not yet proven), they had a daughter Harriett (born 1841) who married Thomas Henry Rea (born 1840) in 1866.  They moved to Bristol in the 1870's appearing on the 1881 census in Bristol.

I know very little about the RAE family in Bristol but have been told that the surname spelling was as the result of a mistake at a marriage.

Thanks for this Ron, I now realise that Thomas Henry is not related to me family Rea.  I have corrected my family tree and will have to be more careful next time.

hi, ron this answer has thrown me as i had thomas as married to harriet rea daughter of issac so if this is true the ancestors i have for this wife are not mine.i have no ancestors for harriet hyde.i will need to delete and start over. better to know though. donna rea

hi your mum is my second cousin twice removed apparently,maybe we are able to help each other on our trees im on ancestry.born carolyn donna rea and then adopted by my dad and took his name cattle.b 1954. now im living in guernsey c i.

Would be delighted to learn more of your connection with my mother and of course would be glad to help with your research.

I haven't yet put much onto Wikitree on this side of my family but am certainly planning to do so in the future.

hi alan, unfortunatly after checking it seems i had the wrong harriet too, Thomas henry rea is def my ancestor and i had him married to your harriet rea ,wrong. sorry. donna. i now have to delate the family of her.
