Grandma Gussie is taking a break from her hard work.  They lived on a very small farm in the South and did not have modern conveniences.  Her cooking stove was wood burning.  Transportation was a mule and wagon for Grandpa Thomas.  She didn't have time to leave home.

I wanted to share this family photo of Gussie Rothell with the community. Location: Liberty, Pickens, South Carolina. Date: 1950.

My Grandmother also used a wood cook stove. Sometimes I would like to go back to living like that. Thanks for sharing.

I have felt the same way.  Except for the hardships, it was simple and uncomplicated.
