Adopted a profile (gedcom import) and person does not seem to exist

I adopted an orphaned profile that appears to be the result of a gedcom import ([[Hogue-103|Edward Hogue]]). I'm working to clean it up (birth date listed is impossible given birth dates of parents) but I cannot find any information on this person. There is no Edward belonging to these parents in any source that I can find, including [https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015031482048;view=1up;seq=30;size=125 The Family of Hoge p. 20] or the father's will, which can be found on the profile of [[Hogg-202|George Hogg]]. I'm nearly certain that whoever imported it meant to link this profile to these parents, as the parents on Ancestry.com match the parents listed on wikitree.

My first question is can anyone else find anything about this Edward Hogue (1668-1708)?

And if not, what is the protocol for this?

I think there are at least 2 familes combined here (from the cases of 2-3 people with the same date of birth).  I think you need to start a new family tree off line and using whatever sources you can find.  It'll be better to have a playpen where you can erase and combine, etc as you want until you can make sense of all the people.  Otherwise if you solve one problem, you'll (or someone else) will come up with more problems.
