Native Nova Scotian Genealogy

Question

I have found a Native Nova Scotian in my ancestral line. I am interested in tips and pointers toward revealing this line. I have read and am a student of Nova Scotian history. However, I have not gone into First Nation history beyond how they were treated by French Acadians versus English/Scottish/British implants/transplants after the expulsions of the Acadians. Suggestions?
