Is Benjamin Godfrey the father of Barbary Godfrey, b. 1747, d. 1798?

I am looking for relatives of a Barbara ("Barbary") Godfrey, one of my paternal grandmothers, who was born in Chatham, MA in 1747 and died in Harwich, MA in 1798 and was married to Elijah Small in 1767.

According to the History of Chatham by W. C. Smith, Benjamin had no daughter named Barbara. As Barbara is also my ancestor, I have been trying all records to find her parents with no success.
