Hi Roger, at the top of the search results there should be a line like the following (example search for John Smith):

100 matches for "john smith". Resort by First Name | Last Name at Birth | Birth Date | Death Date | Profile Manager

If you click on any of these entries, the list will be resorted that way.  So click on Birth Date to get what you want.

But you won't necessarily see the 100 earliest birthdates for John Smith. See http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/241854/unexpected-behavior-of-wikitree-search-function

To limit the range of dates, go to Search Again near the bottom of the search results page and enter a date range.
