PGM May I remove disputed parents of Stephen Hart (1603 - abt. 1683)

I'd like to remove the parents of PGM profile Stephen Hart (1603 - 1683).

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hart-69

Robert Charles Anderson in the Great Migration Begins Vol 2 p 872 says there is not enough evidence to identify parents. Ernest Flagg found a baptism record but nothing else and even he didn't claim to identify the parents (Ernest Flag, Genealogical notes on the Founding of New England p 258).  The most definitive work on his family was done by Buell Burdett Bassett, Bassett Genealogy p 384-91 and he makes no claims to who his parents may be.

Also what the heck do you do with a profile like this? It goes on for pages and pages. Can we create a space to copy all this information to so we can write something concise? I don't want to delete someone else's work but there are several chapters of information here and that's why we have links to sources.

Thanks in advance!

Yikes!  I read the beginning paragraphs believing that was the profile in entirety.  Please, edit!  There is much written which seem like notes which could be kept in one's personal file.

I am fine with removing parents unless a source is provided.
That is crazy long and it looks like some of it is copied straight of out a book. His will is in there twice. No one wants to sift through that much material!

Thanks, Roland, for bringing this to PGM's attention.

Sheesh...

I've detached the parents; moved the disputed origins section to the top of the profile; added links in that section to the disputed parents.

I also added {{LongProfiles}} to the top of the profile. It's a gawdawful mess that narrative. I'm sorry I don't have the bandwidth to work on it right now.

Roland, this is my short answer lol.

We at wikitree collaborate. There are several profile managers for Hart-69 profile. IMO we should contact the other Mgrs. before we do such a large edit.

The profile may need major editing however, I would want to be directly contacted about such an edit. :)

Certainly - I totally agree with you. That's why I started this G2G discussion and posted a link to the G2G discussion on the profile inviting them to add their input here. I'm hoping they will join in. A collaborative edit of something this big should be discussed G2G and not one on one (ad hoc) with the eight different profile administrators. Plus other interested members who are not administrators my have input that is valuable which they can also share on G2G.

The only change I made was to add a disputed parents section at the very end (way, way, way down there).
