Shared Photo: Ukrainian Embroidery

This is an example of the beautiful Ukrainian embroidery that was a part of my grandmother's culture. These designs appeared on shirts and blouses, like the shirt my Uncles wore when they danced as young boys, or on pillows that sat on the couch.

I wanted to share this family photo of Rose Syroid with the community.

How beautiful!  I love the detail and the colors.  I was glad to see that you added it as the background for your Grandmother's profile.

That's some beautiful embroidery. I used to belong to a Ukrainian dance troupe and always loved wearing the blouses.

I used to dance in a Ukrainian dance troupe as well! Had to borrow a blouse until I could make my own. Of course, it wasn't anywhere near as fine as this work!
