How do I delete a profile that has been copied down in error from the old Ancestral file?

Per Reference: Mayflower Families book - Volume 15 page 34, there is not a daughter, Anna. This has been copied down long ago from the old LDS Ancestral File. How do I delete this, as she doesn't exist or at least isn't in this family--then how do I disconnect her?

Just leave her as Anna Unknown, wife of Jeppa Persson.

To avoid having your G2G posts scroll off the screen like that one did, do not select the "Formatted" option in the G2G edit window.

Hi Anna, You can't delete a profile, but if she's attached to the wrong parents you can detach her from the parents.

Is there a reason that a profile can't be deleted?  It seems like there would be a bunch of unlinked profiles floating around.

I have taken the liberty of removing the parents.  You as profile manager will still have some work to do, though.  You need to edit the LNAB, and make it Unknown.  I have put her married name in, but cannot edit the LNAB.  Thanks for spotting this.

Well, well, well. She should probably be Unknown on all accounts. Women did not take their husband's patronymic as a married surname in those days in Sweden. She would have been Somebody's-dotter all her life - and since women  were usually treated as auxiliaries of their husbands their patronymics ar often not in the books - unless you are lucky to find a marriage record. Although I have come across parishes where the oldest records just say that Anders Persson stood bridegroom on Midsummer's Day.

OK, I found her death record. As I suspected, she is mentioned as Jeppa Persson's widow Anna. Gap in the marriage records; Mother's name not mentioned at the baptism of her youngest son. Household records start long after her death. The odds are against our ever finding out who was her father, which would have given us her patronymic LNAB.
