New info but not sure what to make of it?

I'm researching the 2x great grandfather, John Rich:  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rich-2811

and after over three months of searching found a 17 year old post in a genealogy forum that lists three of his sisters and the fact that he had a brother who died young.

While I initially thought I'd struck genealogy gold, I can't seem to find these unusual names.

One sister is named Dely, another Jube and the third is named Tabe.  The brother's name is not listed.

I really thought with such unique names that I'd be able to find them easily in census records but no such luck.

Is it possible that these are nicknames for other, more formal names?

Hi Amy.  I think it's very possible that they're nicknames, but I'm also constantly amazed by the creative spellings that census enumerators can come up with.  I think Family Search lets you search using an asterisk as a wild card for parts of names -- e.g., De*, D*y, J*e, etc. -- so you might try that.  There's also a chance that whoever posted the data in a forum is still active, and if you could track him/her down you could ask where the data was found.  Good luck.

I did post a response in that forum with my email and I tried to send an email to the person who posted but it came back to me.
I was thinking that Dely could be Della and Tabe might be short for Tabitha.  Jube could be Jubal but not sure.
Jubal is more a man's name.  I think it'd be Jesubel or something like that.  It might be Delilah rather that Della too.
Look at a couple of those web sites that list all the possible names for your baby, and you'll probably find dozens of possibilities.
