Tennessee needs YOUR help!

Hi WikiTreers,

The Tennessee Project needs your help!  Our mission is to have a foundation for all things Tennessee. From cities, to citizens, to favorite tourist spots, to cemeteries, we aim to have it all for you in one central location. It is not necessary that you live in Tennessee or have Tennessee heritage or ancestors,  in order to join. Anyone with an interest is welcome!

Tennessee has a long and glorious tradition of Volunteers.

During the War of 1812, President James Madison asked Tennessee to help defend the "Lower Country" So many Tennesseans volunteered that they earned the Nickname "Volunteer State"

President Andrew Jackson, during the Seminole Wars, asked for two thousand volunteers from the State of Tennessee. Four thousand Volunteered.
